40 Days and 40 Nights

Oh come on now, sex is not that critical to life. Now I understand that movies need to be an exaggeration of life, but do you? I’m only 15 years removed from highschool, and I can’t believe what young adults today have to resist. The sexual temptation portrayed in teen movie after teen movie is staggering. But it’s not even the sexual content of this movie that stressed me out the most!

It’s the fact that Josh Hartnet’s love interest, Shannyn Sossamon (Erica), tries to make us believe that true love (or at least knowing if you’re with the right person) isn’t about all that “sex stuff” but all about the Kiss. Pretty Woman was one of the first movies to portray this kind of philosophy, and it is damaging.

Today the school hallways are filled with teens and college students giving each other oral sex, because it’s not as intimate as kissing. Just so you hear it from us. . . .Oral sex, sex, and gropping are all more intimate than Kissing. That’s the whole point of these activities. God designed them to unite a husband and wife like no other relationship on earth!

I can promise you that once you mature enough to understand, you’ll regret your level of involvement beyond kissing with every girl or boy you went with. Relationally and spiritually, it will destroy you. But don’t take it from me, tell us yourself. Here’s a link we are hoping young adults will take very seriously (Too Close Too Soon)

We are wanting testimonies from singles about their physical relationship history, but I don’t have to write much here, just click on that link and you’ll see what we are looking for.

Remember, if you have any questions, please e-mail us at blogger@smalleyonline.com

I just met a parent the other day at lunch who casually talked about her daughter finally slowing down on marrying this guy. She is 17 and he is 22! When I asked the mother what the deal was, and how her daughter could go so far down the marital road with this dude, she said, “I didn’t find out till just last month.”

That is why we wrote DDN and why we love having parents at the live events. For you younger singles out there, get your parents involved. They are a great recource for you in finding the write guy or girl. Parents, get involved with you kid’s life. Not in a controlling way, but in an excited about their life kind of way :)
